Home Improvement Projects To Take On This Year

A new year means there is more time to finish or start on those home improvement projects that the time in 2021 just did not allow. Let this be the year you improve your home and finally get those jobs completed. These home improvement projects range from simple to challenging, but they will no doubt improve your home and quality of life. There’s no need to put these on the back burner or the “honey-do list” that never seems to get done. Simply start, take your time, and tackle the job!

Add Some Curb Appeal

Are your shrubs overgrown, flowers dead from winter, or do you need a fresh layer of sod? As spring quickly approaches, now is the best time to get some fresh air and add or freshen up your home’s curb appeal. Not only will this add value to your home and have everyone “oohing and awing” over your lawn,  but it will make you feel much better coming home.

Get Rid Of Those Floor Squeaks

This one has probably drove you nuts all year. Now’s the time to nip that in the bud. With a bare floor, it is not as complicated to get those squeaks to be silent. You can simply drive screws into the floor joists. Walk around, mark where it squeaks, and drive the screw six inches apart until the squeak is gone.

Hang Motion Detecting Lighting

Not only does this add value to your home, but it will enhance your safety in your home. If someone or something is lurking around your home late at night, these lights will be an easy indicator for you. Also, when going outside late at night, these lights will help light the way, ensuring it’s not as dark or scary.

Paint a Room

Maybe there is a room in your home that you just aren’t crazy about. The good news is, a fresh coat of paint in a new color can totally change your perspective on that. Pick a color, change into some raggedy clothes, and spend the day creating a room you will love!

Update Those Light Fixtures

If you have lived in your home for an extended period of time, it can be assumed that you probably have some outdated light fixtures. Just like paint, light fixtures can really change the vibe and look of a room. Therefore, let this be the year you finally decide to update those fixtures.
